:: Be-The-Guru ::

Be-the-Guru is a revolutionary program for interpersonal skills development. It is the first of its kind that incorporates personal skill development best practices from across the world. It is conducted exclusively by IIM alumni and has approximately 60 contact hours.
The leadership development program commences alongside the preparation for the written part of the exam and a series of sessions and workshops are conducted even before the written portion of CAT. The intensity of the leadership development program increases after the written exam(s). The post-written stage part of this program includes concept sessions covering general, business and economic awareness, Group Discussion and Personal Interview fundamentals, practice Personal Interviews, and practice Group Discussions conducted by IIM alumni, who also provide you comprehensive individual feedback to ensure that you are thoroughly prepared to clear the final hurdle. The leadership development program also includes assistance with resumes, statement-of-purpose (SOP), and personal essays that are invariably a part of the entrance procedure to the top business schools at the post-written stage. In addition to the above, the leadership development module also includes assistance in your campus/ off-campus placements.
While the focus of the Be-the-Guru program is to help you develop and hone your soft skills (Group discussion and Interview skills) from the point of view of an MBA entrance exam, the entire process will leave you feeling far more confident of your communication skills and abilities and will benefit you in any career that you may choose to pursue.
COURSE COMPONENTS - DETAILED
Resume Development Module
Your first calling card in any business interview is your resume. The Resume Development Workshop and subsequent (Individual) feedback on your resume will help you develop a professional and succinct resume. Experts from leading organizations, some of them with experience of having hired for their organizations, will help you shape your resume.
Interview Skills Development Module
The Interview Skills program will be organized in 2 parts. The first part, that of an Interview Skills Workshop will be held before the CAT written exam to help you understand the basic interview skills and get you started in the right direction. The second part will be held after the CAT written exam and will focus on your CAT interviews. Comprehensive objective as well as subjective feedbacks from expert panels consisting of IIM alumni will follow each Interview and thus enable you to prepare In the best possible manner for the 'final frontier'.
Group Discussion Skills Development Module
The Group Discussion Skills program will be organized in 2 parts. The first part, that of a Group Discussion Skills Workshop will be held in will be held before the CAT written exam to help you understand the basic group discussion skills. The second part will be held after the CAT written exam and will focus on your CAT Group Discussions, including case-studies and other variants encountered in various IIM Group discussions. Conducted by panels of IIM alumni and professors of reputed business schools, the Group Discussions are followed by detailed analysis and performance feedbacks.
Essay/SOP Writing Skills Development Module
The Essay Writing Skills program will be organized in 2 parts. The first part, an Essay Writing Skills Workshop will be held before the CAT written exam to help you understand the basic writing skills and to prepare you for your Statement of Purpose Essay situations in your interviews. The second part will be held after the CAT written exam and will focus on your CAT applications and the specific IIMs.
Knowledge and Awareness Enhancement Module
Experienced people from industry and graduates from leading management institutes will discuss events of the significance and explain concepts through case studies. An In-depth understanding of recent events and Issues Is mandatory for a good performance In the Personal Interview/Group Discussion stage of selection to the IIMs and other leading management Institutes. The module will also help you in preparing for the XLRI and FMS written exams, which also test your Business & General Awareness.
